Two leaf and brush drop-off sites are provided for the convenience of city residents. These sites will be open March 15, 2008 through Jan. 17, 2009. The City also has curbside leaf and brush collection designated throughout the year.
Notice: Starting Aug. 1, 2008 the following changes will be in effect:
- Each residence will be able to drop-off up to five leaf and brush sacks at no charge per week
- Each residence will be allowed two no-charge drop-off loads per year that are bed-level or below. (The equivalent of 3 cubic yards.)
- While no-charge loads can be brought in cars, vans, trucks or trailers, they are not to exceed 3 cubic yards. Please read below for specific information on rules and rates

Residents must show proof of residency and the drop-off activity will be logged into a database in order to enforce the two no-charge pick-up load limit. Please read below for specific information on rules and rates.
Bag drop-off
- Each residence will be able to drop-off up to five leaf and brush sacks at no charge per week

For each bag beyond the five bag limit, a $1 fee will be charged.
Car or van load drop-off

A minimum $10 fee will be charged for loads beyond the two no-charge drop-offs
- No-charge loads can be brought in cars, vans, trucks or trailers. However, they are not to exceed 3 cubic yards (the equivalent of a standard pickup-truck bed load)

No-charge load material exceeding 3 cubic yards will be charged at a rate of $4.50 per cubic yard.
Pickup truck load drop-off
- After two no-charge loads, a minimum $10 fee will be charged for loads below pickup truck beds
- After two no-charge loads, a $15 minimum fee will apply for loads above a pickup truck bed
- No-charge loads can be brought in cars, vans, trucks or trailers. However, they are not to exceed 3 cubic yards (the equivalent of a standard pickup-truck bed load)

Large truck load drop-off
- After two no-charge loads, a minimum $10 fee or $4.50 per cubic yard will be charged

Additional rules and information

Proof of residency using a valid driver's license or state issued ID is required. The resident's drivers license address must match residence address. If not, an exception from must be attained from the Solid Waste Division offices on the 23rd floor of City Hall. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please bring a driver's license and utility bill.

Grandview and Raytown residents may use the sites with a voucher purchased from their respective municipalities

Only leaves, yard waste and brush (including tree trimmings) are accepted. Grass clippings are not accepted

Bundles of brush will be charged as a load, not as a bundle.

You may bring leaves in paper yard-waste bags. If you seal your bags, use masking tape only. Do not use duct tape or other plastic tape.

You may be asked to empty bags to show that there is no trash.

Sites are attended. Sites may be under camera or personal surveillance when not in operation. If you see anyone dumping at these sites, please report date, time and description of vehicle and people to the Action Center, (816) 513-1313.
Information for neighborhood cleanup groups seeking vouchers

Vouchers for neighborhood cleanups can be obtained on the 23rd floor of City Hall.

A vehicle license plate number is required for each participating vehicle.

The date of the cleanup must be specified to obtain a voucher.

A letter on neighborhood letterhead supporting the cleanup must be provided.
