Lee’s Summit Road Improvement Study
Project description
The City of Kansas City in partnership with Jackson County, the City of Lee’s Summit, the Missouri Department of Transportation, and Mid-America Regional Council, are sponsoring a study of Lee’s Summit Road between 40 Highway and I-470, including the portion of Douglas Street at the south end of the Study Area.
The Lee’s Summit Road Improvement Study started in late-summer 2006 and will continue into the summer of 2007. After looking at current and projected conditions, the study team will prepare a concept for the roadway encompassing several time periods, from short-term safety upgrades to long-term capacity improvements. Newsletters, this Web page, discussions with stakeholders and two Community Open-House Meetings will maintain dialogue among the public and study partners.
