On their spring break from a 10-week Spanish Immersion program, 19 Kansas City police offiers clandestinely volunteered in schools and community centers with large Spanish-speaking populations March 8-12. This is the fourth year of KCPD’s Spanish Immersion program – a course that puts officers through the equivalent of four semesters of college-level Spanish in 10 weeks. Serial rapist investigation expands into Emergency Operations Center

UPDATE: Now that additional resources have been assigned to pursue leads and tips in the Waldo-area serial rapist case, the investigation has moved to Kansas City's Emergency Operations Center to allow police personnel more room to work. These investigators are pursuing 733 tips and interviewing hundreds of people . The last attack in the case was on Feb. 22 near 69th and Oak streets. More...

The March issue of KCPD's Informant newsletter is now available. Click on the picture to access a .pdf version of the newsletter. This edition features articles on the new $50 million radio system the Department is working to install with the City, an in-depth look at what Iraq's top police officials are doing to stabilize their country and a feature on KCPD's new Vehicle Processing Facility.
