The Recruit Training Instructors prepare those seeking a career in law enforcement with the fundamentals of police service. The Professional Training Instructors provide continuing education opportunities to further skills and career abilities. The Leadership Academy provides a path for lifelong learners to enhance their skills as core leaders, not only in the law enforcement arena, but in all areas of life. The Drivers Training hones the skills of public servants in the areas of low speed and emergency vehicle operation. The Firearms Instructors provide recruit training, as well as continuing education training. 

Beginning May 9, 2011 we are pleased to offer 720 seats of our yearly “In-Service Training” to outside agencies. The cost for this training will be $75.00 for an 8-hour block, or $150.00 for a 16-hour block of P.O.S.T. certified training. In addition to the “In-Service Training”,  the academy training catalog will offer continuing education P.O.S.T. certified training. Seats for these 8- hour POST certified training opportunities will be $75.00. If your agency would be interested in purchasing the 16-hour in-service block for all of your sworn personnel, the Academy will accept a lump sum payment & track the attendance of your personnel and account balance.  Scheduling for the in-service training or continuing education courses can be done by contacting Robin Jackson at robin.jackson@kcpd.org .
