Click-It or Ticket Ordinance Enforcement begins TODAY, May 20
|
|
The Kansas City Missouri Police Department will begin enforcing the City’s new primary seat belt ordinance TODAY, May 20, the first day of the two-week nationwide “Click It or Ticket” campaign. Officers will no longer need another primary violation (such as speeding, running a stop sign, etc.) to stop a vehicle and issue a UTT if the officer observes that either the driver or any front-seat passenger is not wearing a seat belt. Traffic officers will be conducting overtime enforcement in addition to their regular duties during the “Click It or Ticket” mobilization which ends June 2. The fine for this violation was also raised from $10 to $50 dollars. Click here to view video, and here for the Press Release. Criminal History Record Checks – All Criminal History Records Checks will be conducted at Central Patrol Division by Records Unit Staff. Walk-in Reports – Walk-in Reports can be taken at any side station. No walk-in reports will be taken at Headquarters. Report Purchase – Reports can be purchased at any side station. No reports will be sold from Headquarters. Signs will be posted at Headquarters reflecting this change. Thank you for your patience during our renovations.
