Today Swope Park is home to the Kansas City Zoo, Starlight Theatre, Swope Memorial Golf Course, Blue River Golf Course, Lakeside Nature Center, 10 shelter houses and numerous picnic areas and athletic fields.

  • Urban hiking and mountain bike trail opens in Swope Park.  Kansas City Parks partner with Earth Riders Trails Association (ERTA).  This trail, designed and built entirely by volunteer labor, is in the Camp Lake of the Woods section of the park.  The 1.35 mile trail features many rock outcroppings, spectacual views of the surrounding parkland and two small waterfall sections.
