Enjoy viewing live native animals at Lakeside Nature Center. Built in 1999, the center has beautiful exhibits featuring an eagle, owls, hawks, snakes and more. A short nature trail winds through an oak/hickory forest.

Your class or group can participate in one of our many wildlife programs. If you are looking for a facility to rent for your special occasion, we may have the ideal spot.

Children at Lakeside Nature Center enjoy the activity area. This interactive display allows children to match furs and tracks and identify hidden animal artifacts.

Cornell University has identified 15 species of birds that are found in urban environments, ranging from European Starling through Peregrine Falcons to Black-crowned Night Herons.  Visitors will learn about the birds, take part in bird-identifying walks, help with the census reports to be returned to Cornell - as well as making a flying bird craft to take home.  We will be part of a nation-wide research project (like Project Feeder Watch).
