Two courses of exploration have been developed:

The Champion Tree Course is a compass course designed to lead the explorer to eight of the Champion Trees in the park.  The "Explorers Field Guide" workbook has compass bearings and easy to follow instructions for a path of discovery that leads across the northern section of the park.  These activities are designed to reinforce observation and direction following skills.

Each camper receives a Tree Camp backpack containing the "Explorer Field Guide" workbook, a compass, binoculars, a magnifying glass, a tape measure and a clipboard with colored pencils. For more information or to sign up, please call Rita: (816) 536-9592
