The Neighborhood Preservation Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department is responsible for enforcing the City's nuisance code and property maintenance code. In providing professional code enforcement services to the citizens, these services help to improve and stabilize neighborhoods, protect property values and promote a healthier and safer environment.

There is a direct correlation with code violations in a neighborhood that are allowed to go unchecked and crime. Uncorrected code violations, whether on your property or a neighbor's, reduces your property value and that of others and may contribute to the appearance of blight and neglect.

Protect your neighborhood. Please promptly inform us of any nuisance or property maintenance code violations. Protect your property value. Immediately resolve any code violations that you may have on your property.

The City of Kansas City, Mo., is very serious about code enforcement. Please do your part by abating all code violations present on your property. It is not just the right thing to do, it's the law.
