Every CAN center houses a code enforcement officer from the City's Neighborhood Preservation Division and provides space for Kansas City Police Department officers to collaborate, take reports or conduct other business in a community setting. These representatives partner with residents and neighborhood leaders to improve the livability of the neighborhood. CAN centers were developed as part of the Community Policing Initiative and have a wide range of partners including the following: Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the City's Neighborhood Services Division, Missouri Probation and Parole, Move UP, Division of Family Services, COMBAT, local ROTC units and local businesses.
