Colleagues, friends and prospective
interns:
We, along with the administration and staff of the City of Kansas City, Mo., thank you for your interest in continuing your post-graduate education and career development by applying for the L.P. Cookingham Management Fellowship.
It is an exciting time to be in Kansas City. With more than $1.3 billion in capital investment either completed or ongoing, the redevelopment of the downtown area, anchored by the new Sprint Center arena and Power and Light entertainment district, promises to transform downtown into a local, regional, national and international destination for living, entertainment, dining and shopping . The sights, sounds and growth of Kansas City are not just limited to downtown – with its historic 18th and Vine Jazz district, the Crossroads Arts District, the Country Club Plaza, nightlife in Westport and more. Kansas City has something for everyone, everywhere.
The L.P. Cookingham Management Fellowship will give you the opportunity to not only observe, but also actively participate and impact Kansas City. As a fellow, you will receive challenging assignments while rotating through various departments and divisions, including the Office of the City Manager, Capital Improvements Management Office, Office of Management and Budget and a department of your choice. You will meet and work with city, state and civic leaders, gaining valuable insight and developing a strong foundation upon which to build your career.
On behalf of the City Manager’s Office and the City of Kansas City, Mo., we welcome you to apply for the 2008-2009 L.P. Cookingham Management Program. For more information, please e-mail us at cookinghamfellowship@kcmo.org or call (816) 513-1366.
We thank you for your interest, and we hope to see you in Kansas City!
Sincerely,
L.P. Cookingham Management Fellowship Class of 2007
