City Internship Program
The City Internship Program exposes college students to career opportunities in local government while allowing them to develop and strengthen professional skills in a work environment conducive to their education. City interns will gain valuable experience in a professional city government environment as they fulfill essential duties to maintain the City’s level of services to citizens.
These are volunteer internships where students work between 10 to 20 hours a week during the semester. Students are encouraged to earn credit for their internship. Students of all majors are welcomed to apply.
L.P. Cookingham Management Fellowship Program
The L.P. Cookingham Management Fellowship Program experience gives fellows a "360-degree tour of the city." This includes four three-month rotations in the City Manager's Office, the Office of Management and Budget, Capital Improvements Management Office or Public Works and a department of their choice.
Applicants should be on target to complete the required coursework for a master's degree in public administration or similar discipline by the fall of the current academic year.
