Dear resident:
Thank you for subscribing to Insight, my monthly e-newsletter.
Bombardier Plant takes a step forward
The Bombardier Plant is a step closer to coming to Kansas City, as state legislators approved a $240 million tax-credit program. The tax incentive is designed to help lure Bombardier Aerospace to our city as the location for its new facility. The $400 million plant could create approximately 2,100 new jobs in Kansas City. Bombardier also is considering a site near Montreal as a location for its new plant.
Red light photo enforcement set
The City Council approved an ordinance that authorizes the Public Works Department to move forward on automated red light photo enforcement by executing a contract with American Traffic Solutions. Fines will be $100 for motorists who run red lights. These automated red light photo enforcements will help ensure the safety of our residents, as all motorists will have to follow the rules of the road or face fees for violation.

Entertainers perform at Power & Light District
Last Friday, we welcomed David Cook, the Kansas City area resident who is one of the finalists in the popular TV show American Idol, to the Power & Light District. David performed a mini-concert as part of David Cook Day. We are proud to see David enjoy success after playing in the area for several years. Photos from the event, interview and concert video, and more on the event.
This Friday, May 16, Three Dog Night and Dr. Hook will perform at the Power & Light District's KC Live! Stage. The free concert will start at 7 p.m. I encourage you to come downtown and enjoy the new entertainment district, which offers many restaurants, night life venues and more.
