City Hall
3-1-1 Action Center
- Received 366,077 total calls
- Handled 113,685 calls for requests for information
- Resolved 66,798 calls
Aviation Department
- Improved the water quality of the 60-acre Berlin Reservoir at KCI Airport by removing sediment and adding an air bubbling system
- Added four tenants at the Ambassador Building at KCI, which brings occupancy to 65 percent of available space
- Initiated a $22 million construction project on the west side of Downtown Airport to allow faster access to Runway 1-19 and parallel ramp space
Capital Improvements Management Office
- 12th Street streetscape recognized by federal Environmental Protection Agency
- Issued 24 construction notices-to-proceed, totaling more than $57 million
City Planning and Development
- Performed 34,434 construction inspections
- Issued 7,367 construction permits valued at $367.4 million
- Broke ground on townhomes at Beacon Hill
Fire Department/Public Safety
- Received four new “off-road” vehicles for use during grass and brush fires
- Purchased two new aerial platform units that are essential for structural fire suppression and other emergency service assignments
- Conducted complex rescue training at the former Bannister Mall
- Trained and placed 26 new firefighters into assignments throughout the city
Health Department
- Administered 14,190 immunizations to 5,133 children
- Administered 1,853 immunizations to 1,453 adults
- Provided 785 home visits to first-time expectant moms
- Educated 576 children in the Safety Street Program
- Trained 4,935 food handlers on safe food-handling practices
Parks and Recreation Department
- Performed 1,435 safety and cleanliness inspections
- Removed and cleaned 436 incidents of graffiti
- Planted 3,154 trees and pruned 8,700
- Removed 907 damaged and diseased trees
- Mowed 25,941 acres of parkland, boulevards/parkways and public right-of-ways
- Mowed 2,440 acres of land trust lots
- Served 133,418 youth (17 and under) at community centers
Public Works Department
- Collected 57,586 tons of regular and bulky trash
- Collected 12,578 tons of curbside and drop-off recycling
- Sealed 69 miles of lane miles and resurfaced 83 lane miles
- Repaired 4,118 linear feet of sidewalk
- Replaced 6,652 traffic signs
- Repaired 20,669 potholes
Water Services Department
- Repaired 685 water main breaks
- Repaired and replaced 637 fire hydrants
- Repaired 836 service lines
- Repaired 105 valves
