Petition of nomination forms
Petition forms may be obtained from the City Clerk or by downloading this PDF. Please print the form on legal size paper.

Single document
All papers constituting a single petition must be filed at one time with the election authority.

Witness and notarization
Each petition page must be signed by the circulator and notarized prior to the time petitions are presented to the election authority. Petition pages must be original (not corrected or changed). Names of each signer must be printed in space provided at bottom of each page.

Filing of petitions
Petitions of nomination shall be filed with an appropriate election authority at least four weeks prior to the date of the primary election.

Verifications

Signature verification
The election authorities will only commence signature verification after the opening date for filing (Nov. 14, 2006). Candidates are advised that petitions circulated too early may therefore contain invalid signatures because of residence changes, deaths, cancellations or other changes.

Notification of qualifications
Upon completion of the verification of signatures, the election authorities will notify the candidate of the number of valid signatures obtained.

Ballot positions
Ballot positions is determined by the date and time petitions are received, with sufficient number of valid signatures, to be determined by the appropriate election authorities.

Campaign finance disclosure
It is the responsibility of each candidate to file with the election authority of residence an exemption statement or committee organization form along with the series of required reports covering the election cycle. Reports, requirements, deadlines and instructional materials will be provided by the election authorities.

Forms, including campaign finance disclosure forms and adjusted contribution limits for 2006-07, may be obtained from the Missouri Ethics Commission.
