Resident of the City for two years immediately prior to the election and of the councilmanic district for six months immediately prior to date of municipal regular election
Paid City and County taxes for two years immediately before date of election
Age 25 prior to election
Qualified voter of the City
Shall not have been found guilty either after a trial or as a result of a plea of nolo contendere of a felony or any other act in another jurisdiction that would be a felony in Missouri, unless a qualified votes for five years prior to the election.

Specifications
In-district councilmember is elected by voters of respective district
At-large councilmember is elected by all voters of the city
Term of office is four years beginning May 1 following municipal regular election
Starting annual salary is $54,735

Nomination Petitions
In-district councilmember: Petition filed with an appropriate election authority signed by no fewer than 300 nor more than 750 registered voters of such council districts of this city.
At-large council member: Petition filed with an appropriate election authority signed by no fewer than 500 nor more than 1,500 registered voters of the city.
