Seville, capital of the Andalucia region and of the province of Seville, is in south Spain. The city lies on the bank of the Guadalquivir River, which crosses the city from north to south and can be navigated to its outlet on the Atlantic coast. Seville has played an important role in commerce between Spain and the Americas and is still one of the most active river ports on the Iberian Peninsula.
