In addition, OECHM is responsible for training Health Department staff and others in the community in epidemiology and statistics, and for assisting both internal and external customers with survey designs and statistical analyses.

OECHM publishes the Health Department’s Community & Hospital Letter, a monthly newsletter that discusses public health issues affecting Kansas City, Mo., and the metropolitan area (Medical Publications).

OECHM collaborates with community organizations and public health agencies in the development of educational/informational programs.

Staff also do presentations on a wide-variety of topics for community organizations, universities and colleges, and medical/veterinary care providers.
