As part of the City's "Green Solutions" project, several of the City Councilmembers visited Portland, Ore., to observe steps that city has taken towards becoming a sustainable, environmentally-friendly city. They observed rooftop gardens, curb designs to control storm runoff, curbside rain gardens, mass transit, alternate drainage systems, signs explaining the programs to the residents and a variety of other possibilities.

The following are photos taken by Councilmember Jan Marcason and others on this trip.
