    What services are offered at the Health Department?

    The Kansas City, Mo., Health Department offers a list of services including but not limited to: adult, child and travel immunizations; air quality monitoring and regulatory compliance; childhood lead poisoning prevention, screening, case management, inspection, and abatement; communicable disease surveillance, investigation, prevention and control; community environmental health including child care facility, food, hotel and swimming pool inspections; emergency medical service oversight and licensing; epidemiology and community health monitoring; food handler permit and training; health alert network; health education and communication, including public information, media relations, public health ambassadors, Safety Street, injury prevention, and health literacy; public health preparedness and emergency planning; refugee clinic; sexually transmitted disease prevention and treatment; tobacco use prevention and control; Tuberculosis prevention and treatment; rat detection, education and infestation control; and vital records and statistics, including birth and death records.     How can I get a birth/death certificate or a copy of my child's immunization records?

    Birth and death records may be requested either in person or on-line; that information may be found on our Vital Records page. For information on immunization records, either e-mail or call us at (816) 513-6108.

    How can I file a noise complaint or request a Noise Permit?

    The Community Environmental Health Program handles Noise Ordinance concerns. Please call (816) 513-6313.

    Who should I contact about mold, rats, sewage problems, or other health issues in my apartment?

    The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is one resource if you think your apartment has lead based paint that may be making your child sick. To report other health problems in your apartment, please contact Neighborhood Preservation at (816) 513-9000; they enforce the City's Housing and Nuisance Codes.

    How do I report a food code violation?

    If you see something at a restaurant, cafeteria or food-vender push cart in Kansas City, Mo., that you think may be unhealthy, there are several ways to report it. You may call the Food Protection Program at (816) 513-6315, fill out our online complaint form, or send us an e-mail with all the information you can think of about the situation. If you have a food concern outside of Kansas City, Mo., see our information on other health departments.

    The Kansas City, Mo., Health Department only inspections restaurants, cafeterias, temporary events, and food-vender push carts within the city limits of Kansas City, Mo.
