    The Air Quality Program ensures the safety and quality of the air in the City of Kansas City, Mo., by regulating sources of air pollution and working with state, local and federal agencies to plan and implement strategies to protect our future air quality.

    The Enforcement Section of the program is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations by businesses and residents within the Kansas City, Mo.

    Primary enforcement activities include:

    • Conducting asbestos abatement inspections
    • Investigating complaints about dust and fugitive emissions
    • Open burning permit issuance and inspections
    • Stage one vapor recovery inspections.
