Kansas City’s Housing Court, which is a separate division of the Kansas City Municipal Court, was established by a charter amendment approved by the voters in 1987. Its docket is exclusively devoted to housing code prosecutions of all kinds, including cases brought under the nuisance, property maintenance, building and zoning codes and the illegal dumping ordinance.

The Housing Court judge is Wayne Cagle, whose email address is wcagle@everestkc.net. Judge Cagle has been the Housing Court judge since December, 1990.
