he Public Improvements Advisory Committee consists of 13 people, two from each council district and a chairperson, appointed by the mayor and City Council. The group was created in 1983 by City Council Resolution 55417 and reaffirmed by City Council Resolution 62031. The PIAC's primary function is to solicit resident input and make recommendations regarding both the citywide and neighborhood portions of the capital budget. The PIAC holds a series of public hearings beginning in early summer. These hearings provide residents with an opportunity to express their opinions, concerns and project requests regarding the forthcoming capital budget. If you submit more than one request, place a priority number on all PIAC form submittals indicating which is the most important improvement in your neighborhood or association. We are encouraging cooperation instead of competion among the neigbhorhoods and residents we serve in the PIAC program. This committee finishes its year by submitting its balanced five-year capital improvements program and neighborhood recommendations in early February.
