Music
Hall construction now underway
The Capital
Improvements Management Office in partnership with Kansas City Mo.
Convention & Entertainment Centers, hosted a kick-off event on
Thursday, July 27 to celebrate the start of construction on the $13.4
million renovation of Music Hall at Municipal Auditorium.
City officials including Mayor Kay Barnes and City Manager Wayne A.
Cauthen, along with members of the project's design team were on hand
to mark this anticipated occasion. In addition, a behind-the-scenes
tour was offered to attendees so they could get a first-hand look at
what work will be done.
Construction on this project is scheduled to be largely completed by
the end of February 2007. Work will go on hiatus during December to
accommodate the Kansas City Ballet's staging of "The Nutcracker."
Improvements include an expanded stage, a reconfigured seating pattern
and utility upgrades.
