Health Department to conduct neighborhood meeting on pandemic flu
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department will host an informal discussion and planning session for pandemic influenza for neighborhood leaders from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 29 in the Biery Auditorium at the Health Department, 2400 Troost Ave.
This public meeting is designed to educate residents on how to prepare and protect individuals, their families and neighbors from a pandemic influenza.
Seasonal flu shots also will be available at the event. Shots cost $20 each (cash only) and the Health Department will bill for Medicare or Medicaid cardholders. The Health Department says getting a flu shot is the best way to prevent the flu or decrease the length and severity of symptoms.
Registration for the summit is available by calling (816) 513-6120, or online at http://www.kcmo.org/health in the “Hot Topics” section. Lunch will be provided for those who register.
