Health Department extends food quality awards application deadline

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department and the Food Advisory Council have extended the deadline for applications for the annual food quality awards to Sept. 15.

The food quality awards recognize food establishments that have demonstrated excellence in compliance with the City’s food code and other public health standards established by the Health Department. The award is valid for one year. Recipients are asked to prominently display their award certificate. Any food establishment within the city may submit an application. There were seven award winners in 2006.

Applications and criteria for the food quality awards may be found at the Health Department Web site, www.kcmo.org/health, or by calling the Health Department at (816) 513-6315.
