Additional downtown street closures begin next week

To accommodate water and storm sewer construction for the Power & Light District, these downtown streets will close next week and reopen in April:

Walnut Street, between 12th Street and 13th Street, will close Monday at 9 a.m.

Main Street, from 12th Street south to the driveway of One Kansas City Place, will close Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Through March, 13th Street, from Main Street to Walnut Street, will remain closed.

To access the surrounding area during these closures, drivers are encouraged to use the following detours:

13th Street from Baltimore Avenue to Main Street will be open to two-way traffic, granting access to the Midland Theatre and One Kansas City Place.

13th Street from the Parking Garage to Grand Avenue will be open to two-way traffic, granting access to the 13th Street Parking Garage.

Northbound and southbound traffic should use Baltimore Avenue to get between 12th Street and 13th Street.
