Westbound lanes of I-670 closed nightly this week

As part of the efforts to better meet the growing convention and event needs of citizens and visitors, some lanes of Interstate 670 will be closed this week from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.

All westbound lanes of I-670 from the West I-670/South I-35 split to the East I-670/North I-70 split will be closed nightly to accommodate Kansas City Convention Center ballroom expansion efforts. These lane closures started Monday and will continue through Friday night.

During lane closures, westbound traffic on I-70 will be routed to the north portion of the downtown loop on I-70. North I-70 merges into West I-70. Drivers wishing to pick up South I-35 also will use this detour route.
