Capital Improvements Management Office wins industrial award
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Capital Improvements Management Office on Jan. 26 received a Brick-by-Brick Award from the Kansas City Industrial Council.
CIMO was recognized at the 14th annual Economic Outlook and Brick-by-Brick Awards Luncheon as a distinguished public partner responsible for contributions made to the industrial areas of Kansas City. In particular, the City was cited for its management of these seven bridge construction projects:
23rd Street Bridge and American Royal Drive
Beardsley Road Bridge
Blue Parkway Bridge over Blue River
Bruce Forrester Viaduct
Suburban Junction Bridge
Truman Road Bridge over Blue River.
Members from the manufacturing, construction, government and business communities were present. An economic outlook panel was featured to discuss the present state and future forecast of industry, manufacturing and construction in the metropolitan area.
The Kansas City Industrial Council represents six industrial areas that have more than 70,000 employees among them. The council's mission is to promote and advocate for the development of Kansas City's industrial areas.
