City offices closed July 3, trash service is not affected
City offices will be closed on July 3 in observance of Independence Day, however curbside trash, recycling and bulky collections will still take place on Friday, July 3. The week of July 6-10 is a “no tag” period for trash collection in the city. During this period, residents may set out more than two bags of trash without tags.More.

Bulky item pickup appointments available online
Residents with Internet access can now schedule Bulky Item Collection appointments at www.kcmo.org/bulky. The online appointments scheduling is expected to reduce call volume into the City’s 3-1-1 Action Center, resulting in less waiting time for callers. Residents who prefer calling to make an appointment will still have that option. More.
City engages in federal stimulus package process
The City is in the process of applying for multiple federal stimulus grants in a variety of programs. 12th Street Bridge temporarily closed
The City is alerting motorists that the 12th Street Bridge is temporarily closed. The temporary closure resulted from a routine inspection that revealed structural deficiencies. The closure will last until repairs are made later this summer. More.
RFP process for homelessness prevention funding opens
The City has opened the request for proposals/qualifications (RFP/RFQ) for the recently received Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program federal stimulus funding. The allocation provides more than $3.6 million to help families experiencing or facing homelessness. More.
