About this Award

The employees of the City of Kansas City, Mo., provide a level of service to residents and businesses that is second to none. The Rich Noll Pacesetter Award program is a way for the City of Kansas City, Mo., and especially the City Council, to acknowledge its hard working and dedicated employees who continue to serve the City in spite of the burdens created by the recent economic crisis.

Each month the City recognizes individuals who have gone above and beyond in their service to the City, exhibiting strong communication skills, a dedication to customer service, teamwork skills, leadership skills, and concern for coworkers. The award takes its name from Rich Noll, the former assistant city manager who unexpectedly passed away in August 2010, whose career was defined by these attributes.

City residents and employees are encouraged to nominate employees they’ve witnessed serving the City to the best of their abilities. The award selection committee reviews nominations on a monthly basis and select employees to receive the award and be recognized at a City Council legislative meeting of the Month.
