City names acting director of Neighborhood and Community Services Department Wednesday, June 3, 2009
City of Kansas City, Mo., City Manager Wayne A. Cauthen has named David Park as acting director of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, effective June 5. Park was appointed following the retirement of Lester Washington, a 24-year City employee who served as director of the department for the last seven years.

12th Street Bridge temporarily closed Friday, May 22, 2009
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is alerting motorists that the 12th Street Bridge will be temporarily closed. The decision to close the bridge was made after a routine inspection revealed structural deficiencies. The temporary closure will last until repairs are made later this summer.

City mowing operations are under way Friday, May 22, 2009

Temporary closure of Northwest Tiffany Springs Road Wednesday, May 20, 2009
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department is alerting motorists that Northwest Tiffany Springs Road, from North Amity Avenue to Tiffany Hills Park will be closed for construction starting May 26, at 8 a.m. It is expected to remain closed until late fall 2009.

Red-light Safety Camera Program expands Friday, May 15, 2009
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department today announced that June 1, is the target date for activating red-light safety cameras at the intersections of North Oak Trafficway and Vivion Road, N.W. 68th Street and U.S. 169 highway, 23rd Street and I-435, and Winner Road and I-435. These activations will bring the total number of active red-light safety camera intersections to 13.
