City renews WIC contract Tuesday, November 23, 2010
The City of Kansas City, Mo. announces the renewal of a contract to provide services through Missouri’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, commonly known as WIC. The contract between the City and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will allow the City’s Health Department to serve 300 clients each month for the next federal fiscal year, which will last through September 2011.

City receives Office on Violence Against Women grant Tuesday, November 23, 2010
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Prosecutor's Office is pleased to announce that the City of Kansas City Mo., Municipal Court, in partnership with the City’s Domestic Violence Court; the City’s Domestic Violence Victims Assistance Program; the Rose Brooks Center; the Jackson County Safe Family Coalition; and the Resource Development Institute, has received a Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women grant award valued at $230,409.

Temporary closure of Red Bridge Road Monday, November 22, 2010
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department temporarily will close Red Bridge Road, between Blue River Road and Holmes Road, to through traffic at 9 a.m. on June 13. The street is expected to re-open by 4 p.m. the same day. Detours will be posted.

KCI Airport passenger traffic up 2.4 percent in September Friday, November 12, 2010
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department reports that Kansas City International Airport recorded 811,497 passengers arriving and departing through its gates in September, which represents an increase of 2.4 percent from September 2009. Passenger boardings at KCI were up 1.9 percent, with a total of 406,808 during September. For the year to date, boardings at KCI totaled 3,715,114, an increase of 1.9 percent from the same period last year.
