Trash pick-up delayed, City offices closed Jan. 17 Monday, January 10, 2011
In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan. 17, curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and City of Kansas City, Mo., offices, including the 3-1-1 Action Center, will be closed.

City mourns the loss of Firefighter Richard Paul Friday, January 7, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo. wishes to acknowledge the passing of Richard Paul KCFD and expresses its appreciation for his many years of service. Paul, a fire apparatus operator, suffered a medical emergency this morning during his annual KCFD physical. He was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital, where he died.

Project ahead of schedule, lane closure changes on North Oak Trafficway at I-29 Interchange begin Jan. 7 Thursday, January 6, 2011
Due to early completion of part of the City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department’s installation of the 54-inch Arrowhead Water Transmission Main Project, lane closures along North Oak Trafficway at the I-29 Interchange will be modified starting Jan. 7 to accommodate Stage 2 of the project.

The City of Kansas City, Mo. is advising residents that Halfway Home Pet Adoptions, 4400 Raytown Road, will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 9 to accommodate traffic to and from Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs’ opening playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. The shelter will reopen Monday at noon.
