City announces Grade A Food Excellence Award recipients Tuesday, February 15, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., announced the recipients of the Health Department’s seventh annual Grade A Food Excellence Award on Feb. 15. There were 160 food service establishments that qualified for the award this year, including full scale restaurants, fast-food establishments, school cafeterias, bakeries, convenience stores and grocery stores, among others.

87th Street construction will close two I-435 ramps Friday, February 11, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is advising motorists that construction on the 87th Street roundabouts will close the northbound on-ramp and southbound off-ramps to Interstate 435 beginning Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 9:30 a.m. until early May.

City enters wrap-up phase for storm cleanup, Snow to be hauled from downtown Friday, February 4, 2011
In response to this week’s extreme winter weather, City of Kansas City, Mo., crews continue to widen passable lanes today and address slick calls from residents. It is anticipated that crews will end cleanup operations Saturday, Feb. 5 at noon. Over the weekend, a small scaled-back crew will monitor City bridges for ice.

City continues to dig out after blizzard Wednesday, February 2, 2011
City of Kansas City, Mo., snow removal crews assigned to primary and arterial streets made considerable progress overnight, after snow stopped falling. As of this morning, most primary and arterial routes have tight snowpack and some exposed pavement. With heavy accumulations removed, the snowpack and ice will be salted in an attempt to break up the snowpack.

City delays office hours by two hours Wednesday Tuesday, February 1, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is notifying residents that in order to allow building maintenance workers adequate time for clearing snow from City facilities and sidewalks, as well as to allow sufficient travel time for City workers, business hours for the public and employees will be delayed by two hours on Wednesday, Feb 2. This delay does not apply to City workers who are associated with 24/7 service activities.
