Residents advised about wastewater overflow into the Brush Creek Watershed Sunday, July 24, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department reports a wastewater overflow due to debris (trash) in the manhole. A manhole located at 4500 Cleveland Ave. bypassed into an unnamed creek leading to Brush Creek on Saturday, July 23 at a rate of 25 gallons per minute. The bypass was discovered at 2:30 p.m. while crews were responding to a bad odor complaint.

WSD hires contractors to assist with water main breaks Friday, July 22, 2011
Due to the excessive heat, the City of Kansas City, Mo., is experiencing an above average number of water main breaks. The City’s Water Services Department has called in additional crews and will be enlisting the assistance of contractor crews to repair the breaks. Crews will work as quickly as possible to restore service to residents.
