Community celebrates Red Bridge lighting Thursday, December 29, 2011
City of Kansas City, Mo., residents and community leaders gathered Wednesday, Dec. 28 to celebrate the newly constructed bridge over the Blue River on Red Bridge Road. This construction replaced a decades-old narrow bridge and is the latest milestone along that historic roadway.

Trash collection delayed one day, City offices closed Jan. 2 Thursday, December 29, 2011
In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, City of Kansas City, Mo., offices and the 311 Call Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 and curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day. Residents who usually have Monday collection will receive the service on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Residents who usually have Friday collection will receive it on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Annual registration of Kansas City rental properties due Jan. 31 Wednesday, December 28, 2011
All owners of rental dwellings located in Kansas City, Mo., must renew or establish registration of their rental properties with the City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood and Community Services Department for 2012 by Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. Annual registration of rental properties is part of the Rental Registration and Inspection Program established by the City Council with passage of ordinance No. 071046 in October 2007.

Holiday schedule for City drop-off centers, recycling centers Thursday, December 22, 2011
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is advising residents that the City’s Leaf and Brush Drop-Off Center located at 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway will be closed Saturday, Dec. 24; Sunday, Dec. 25; Saturday, Dec. 31; and Sunday, Jan. 1 in observance of the holidays. The City’s other Leaf and Brush Drop-Off Center, located at 10301 Raytown Road, will be closed Saturday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 31 for the holidays.
