Crews transfer traffic onto Northwest Barry Road
The City of Kansas City, Mo., has announced that motorists will soon have access to improved lanes on Northwest Barry Road.
City crews will transfer traffic from the temporary road, which extends from Northwest Conant Avenue to Northwest Eastside Drive, after morning rush hour on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Motorists will drive on a new road surface on the north side between North Amity Avenue and Northwest Mace Road, and will shift to the south side between Northwest Mace Road and Northwest Conant Avenue, while crews complete the roadway.
When complete, this project will improve Northwest Barry Road (between Northwest Potomac Avenue to Northwest Conant Avenue) and Northwest Amity Avenue (between Northwest Barry Road to the westbound on-ramp for Missouri Highway 152). The improvements will include bridge replacement; two major culvert replacements; sight distance improvements; sidewalk and curb and gutter installation; pavement widening; storm sewer improvements and water main upgrades.
The full project is scheduled for completion in summer 2012.
