City's Animal Shelter holds fall adoption special
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Animal Shelter will hold a fall pet adoption special from Saturday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Oct. 2, at its shelter on 4400 Raytown Road.
The shelter is open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. However, because of the adoption special, the shelter will extend its hours on Thursday, Sept. 29 and be open 2 to 8 p.m. Also, while the shelter is usually closed on Sundays, it will open to the public on Sunday, Oct. 2 from noon to 3 p.m.
Those visiting the shelter may adopt two cats for $45. This price includes spaying or neutering, a rabies vaccination, feline distemper vaccination, a one-year pet license for Kansas City, Mo., residents and a feline leukemia test. Dog adoption fees are reduced from $100 to $55. The price includes spaying or neutering, rabies vaccination, canine distemper vaccination, a heartworm test, and a one-year pet license for Kansas City, Mo., residents. The shelter features animals of all ages, sizes, color and breed. Many of the pets are housetrained, leash and crate trained, and well-socialized.
