Aim4Peace sponsors Job, Health and Educational Fair
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department’s Aim4Peace program joins with the United Service Community Action Agency and Brush Creek Community Center to sponsor the Job, Health and Educational Fair for area residents. The event will be Thursday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brush Creek Community Center, 3801 Emanuel Cleaver Blvd.
“Our goal with this event is to decrease the stress that leads to violence by increasing access to jobs, health services and opportunities in the community,” said Dr. Rex Archer, director of the Health Department.
Some of the employers that will be present at the event include Goodwill Industries, Stivers Staffing Services, Quintiles, UPS, Manpower, Aviation Institute of Maintenance and Job Corps.
Devry University, Friends University and Metropolitan Community College will be among the schools with representatives present to speak with prospective students about enrollment, programs and degree paths.
The event is free and open to the public.
Funding for this activity was provided in part by the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Missouri Department of Social Services’ Family Support Division. The funds received from the Family Support Division are all federally funded.
