Troost Bridge reopens Aug. 18
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is advising motorists that all four lanes to the Troost Avenue Bridge over Brush Creek will reopen on Thursday, Aug. 18 shortly after rush hour.
The $13.5 million project will replace the existing Troost Avenue Bridge and provide pedestrian access along Troost Avenue. The project received $9 million in federal stimulus funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures to allow road crews to complete work on medians and outside the roadway throughout the rest of the year.
The Capital Projects Department is managing the project for the City’s Water Services Department. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2012.
Media inquiries and other requests for more information about this project should be directed to Sean Demory, Capital Projects Department, 816-513-0059 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
