City to collect storm debris in three Northland areas
Chouteau drop-off center open Aug. 13-21
The City of Kansas City, Mo., has concluded that three small areas within the City’s Northland experienced significant storm damage to trees on Sunday, Aug.7. To assist residents in these areas hit hardest by the storm, the City will provide a special curbside woody debris pickup beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13 in the following collection zones.
Zone #1: The area bounded by Barry Road, Northwest 72nd Street, Mace Road and I-29. The Wildberry subdivision just north of Barry Road will also be included in this collection zone.
Zone #2: The area bounded by Northwest 64th Street, Northwest 56th Street, Northwest Waukomis Drive and I-29.
Zone #3: The area bounded by Northeast Antioch Road, North Norton Avenue, Vivion Road and I-35.
Residents in the affected area with woody debris are asked to place the debris curbside by 7 a.m. the morning of Saturday, Aug. 13. It is anticipated that the collection will be complete by late afternoon on Sunday, Aug 14.
In addition to the special collection, the City’s Leaf and Brush Drop-Off center located at 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day from Aug. 13-21 to assist residents.
