Residents advised about wastewater overflow into the Dykes Branch Watershed

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department reports a wastewater overflow due to a root blockage.

A manhole located at 9028 Oak St. was reported overflowing at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, July 16. It was overflowing approximately 3 gallons per minute.

The overflow ended at 12:30 p.m. for a total of 750 gallons. The sewage did not reach a creek. The sewage was absorbed into the ground. Lime was applied to the affected area.
