Residents advised about wastewater overflow near White Creek
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Water Services Department reports a wastewater overflow due to debris in the sewer line.
An overflowing manhole located at 8900 Crescent Ave was discovered at 10:13 am. The overflow rate is 50 GPM. The overflow ended at 12:41 pm for a total of 4,400 gallons.
Signs will be posted.
The release of untreated sewage from sewer systems, such as this, is known as a sanitary sewer overflow and represents a potential threat to public health and the environment.
