Dream KC celebration to inspire young professionals
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Engage KC Leadership Board, looks forward to dialoguing with young professionals at "Dream KC, a Martin Luther King, Jr. Call to Action Celebration" on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center. A networking reception will begin the event, followed by a program featuring presentations by Judge Lisa Hardwick, community leaders and Engage KC board members.
Young professionals will openly discuss the following areas: civic engagement, entertainment, board development, housing, workforce development and strategies to identifying professional mentors.
The board hopes this public event will serve as a platform to inspire young professionals to get involved and connect with their communities.
“Thisis a great way to meet leaders and mentors in the community who can helpguide young professionals both personally and professionally,” said Angela Pearson, Engage KC board member.
This event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 12 but was canceled due to inclement weather.
