Public Information Officer, Water Services, City of Kansas City, Missouri
A Boil Water Advisory is being issued by Water Services on February 16, 2011 effective immediately. Water Services anticipates the boil advisory to last for 48 hours.
The affected area is 120th to 155th and from just east of Holmes Road (Blue River) to State Line Road.
Customers should boil all drinking water. Boil water vigorously for three minutes before using it to drink, cook, or prepare food. Ice made with un-boiled water should not be used for drinking purposes. Disinfect dishes and food contact surfaces with tap water that contains one teaspoon of household bleach per gallon.
This Boil Water Advisory is being issued due to a 16–inch water main break that occurred at 95th and Bannister Road that caused a drop in water pressure.
The public will be notified when there is no longer a need to boil the water.
