Drinking Water Warning Saturday, May 1, 2010
A water sample result reported on May 1, 2010 revealed the sample was positive for E. coli, a common indicator for water quality. The positive sample was collected on April 30, 2010 from a recently installed fire hydrant at 7400 Sycamore. As a precautionary measure the Water Services Department is issuing a boil order for the area south of Gregory, east of I-435, west of Booth, and north of 77th Street.

Changes coming to City trash collection May 3 Thursday, April 29, 2010
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Public Works Department’s Solid Waste Division is notifying residents that on Monday May 3, the City will transition all trash and recycling collections north of the river and south of 63rd Street to Town and Country Disposal. Because drivers may run collection routes in a different order and at different times, it is important for residents to place all trash and recycling curbside no later than 7 a.m. the day of collection.

City requests additional Home Weatherization Program funding Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Committee to hear Ordinance No. 100346 to reduce break-ins for new home construction Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Human Rights Commission hosts forum on dress codes and civil rights Thursday, April 22, 2010
The Kansas City, Mo. Human Rights Commission has announced it will be hosting a forum, “Is It Your Clothes or Your Color: A Forum on Dress Codes and Civil Rights,” Tuesday, April 27 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, 3700 Blue Parkway. The event is free and open to the public. It will include panelists and time for questions from the audience.

City and regional partners receive $20 million in EECBG federal stimulus dollars Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Today, Vice President Joe Biden announced the City of Kansas City, Mo., and its partners will receive a $20 million Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) from the U.S. Department of Energy, funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The EnergyWorks KC grant proposal was designed to change the energy retrofit market in the Kansas City region.

Rental Registration is required for rental properties Tuesday, April 13, 2010
The City of Kansas City, Mo., is issuing a reminder to owners of rental dwellings located in the city in an effort to let them know they must renew or establish registration of their rental properties with the City's Neighborhood and Community Services Department on an annual basis. Annual registration of rental properties is part of the Rental Registration and Inspection Program that was established by the City Council, with passage of ordinance No. 071046 in October 2007.

City suspends liquor license of Murphy’s Pub & Grill for two days Tuesday, April 6, 2010
