Ambassador Drive scheduled to open
A ribbon cutting ceremony to formally celebrate the opening of Ambassador Drive in the City’s Northland is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Nov. 16. The event will be held at the intersection of Ambassador Drive and Skyview Avenue.
KCI Corridor TIF Advisory Committee Chairman Kelley Martin will be the master of ceremonies. Remarks will be made by Platte County Commissioner Betty Knight, Councilmen Russ Johnson and Ed Ford, and Park Hill School District Superintendent Dennis Fisher. Buses are scheduled to tour the road improvements following the ceremony.
“The completion of Ambassador Drive is strategic, because it connects the Tiffany Springs corporate and residential developments with the retail developments located along Barry Road,” Martin said. "The completion should significantly reduce congestion at the Tiffany Springs Parkway and Barry Road intersections with I-29.”
The opening of Ambassador Drive symbolizes the collaborative spirit of the Kansas City/Platte County community. The success of the TIF plan was made possible by the work of city and county officials, school district leaders and the business community.
Media inquiries regarding this project and the ribbon cutting ceremony should be directed to Lisa Minardi, aide to Councilman Ed Ford 816-513-1601.
