Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund holds
additional grant application workshop

Organizations interested in applying for 2011-12 fiscal year reimbursable grants from the City of Kansas City, Mo., Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund are invited to attend the annual informational workshop scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. at Trailside Center, 99th Street & Holmes Road. This is the final workshop prior to the application deadline of Oct. 15.

To apply for a grant, organizations must be a non-profit incorporated in the State of Missouri with a registered office within Kansas City, Mo. city limits. Its mission must emphasize neighborhood, community, tourism, promotion and development priorities. Finally, the organization must meet City requirements for contracting with non-municipal agencies.

"Kansas City's distinct neighborhoods are home to hundreds of interesting festivals, art shows, music events and home tours," said Mayor Mark Funkhouser. "The city staff is doing a fine job of working with our non-profit and neighborhood leaders to help them apply for these grants. The program is designed to bring in new visitors to our city."

Application packets will be available at the workshop.
