FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Sept. 23, 2010
Southbound lanes of Highway 169 reopened
The water line has been repaired and pavement restored allowing the southbound lanes of Highway 169 to be reopened at 5 am his morning. A combination of Water Services Pipeline crews and its restoration contractor, J.M. Fahey Construction Company worked nearly continuously to make the repairs ahead of schedule.
"While the water main break that caused the shut down was unfortunate, the quick repair and earlier than expected opening this morning show how well our Kansas City crews respond when called upon," said Mayor Mark Funkhouser.
